Welcome to

Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams

Florence is a new secondary academy in Stoke-on-Trent. We’re excited to be opening our doors to our Year 7 founding cohort in September 2024!

It will provide a new opportunity for young people from Stoke-on-Trent to attain the highest standards, accessing state of the art facilities that support a broad and balanced education.

A Warm Welcome
From our Headteacher

Elizabeth Clewlow, Headteacher

It is a great privilege to be able to create a legacy for future generations that is built in, by, and for Stoke. Contributing to the Florence MacWilliams project from inception and seeing it through to fruition is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Florence will be an exceptional school; our founding pupils will benefit hugely from being part of a growing school that has the opportunity to establish a strong culture from the very beginning, with our staff getting to know every child and family.

What do people say?

It’s incredibly exciting that Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams will be the first free school in the city and one of the first new-build schools in many years. I’m pleased to see that rapid progress is being made and welcome the news that the Co-op Academies Trust are on board to deliver the school, which will also include sports and other community facilities.
